A Day with the Masters

Programme ‘A Day with the Masters’ is a pilgrimage to the most sacred temple of arts, giving a world class experience to the visitors by Kerala Kala Mandalam, renowned music and dance academy founded by the famous poet, Vallathol Narayana Menon in Cheruthuruthy. This Cultural University showcases variety of art forms like Kathakali, Mohiniyattom, Martial arts, Theyyam, Thullal and other art forms of Kerala and also explains the tourists and the guests the nuances of the art. It has won many awards for this programme. This premier cultural tourism product of the ‘Gods Own Country’ is jointly promoted by Kerala Tourism and Kerala Kalamandalam.

An audio-visual presentation – Saga of Kalamandalam
A Presentation and visit to the Koothambalam – the traditional temple theatre
A Visit and Exposition of 10-15 Kalaris (teaching classes) – Classical dances – Mohiniyattam,
Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi; Kathakali - Vesham(acting), Make-up, Vocal music, Cholliyattam; Koodiyattam.; Percussion instruments – Chenda, Maddalam, Mizhavu, Thimila and Mridangam; Karnatic classical Music, Thullal
A Presentation on Kerala Mural Painting , ‘Nrittyolpathi’, the origin of Dance
A visit of the Art gallery, to see costumes, head-gears, masks and jewellery.
A glimpse of the old Kalamandalam Campus on the banks of Nila; Portrait-gallery and the tomb of poet laureate Vallathol Narayana Menon, founder of Kalamandalam

Mock Indian Wedding in Kerala
EXCLUSIVE MOCK WEDDING in KERALA:-

Programme Traditional Marriage Ceremony, mainly involve the following events.
Beginning the traditional ceremony the Jaimala (exchange of garlands) by the couples
The Pujari (Hindu Priest) starts the marriage ceremony with pujas (prayer)
The couple take oaths of loyalty and love to each other.
They encircle the Mandapam
Finally the Kanyadaan (giving away the bride) takes place
The above events will take place in a flower decorated Kallyana Mandapam (platform) in front of the Pujari along with live Kerala special marriage based classical music.
After the mock wedding ceremony, dinner will be served.
Dinner will be Kerala style feast (Sadhya). This is a typical Kerala traditional Hindu Marriage feast (pure veg) served on banana leaves. |
